The PARI LC® Star was designed for treating the deepest part of the lungs or for those patients with smaller airways due to age or advanced disease state. The LC® Star is designed to deliver the smallest particle size of all PARI LC® Reusable Nebulizers with the highest percentage of particles in the respirable range. The PARI LC® Star should only be used by doctors recommendation. This nebulizer uses breath-enhanced technology to minimize wasted medication and to maximize the amount deposited in your lungs. It is a reusable nebulizer to be used up to 6 months, delivering fast treatments (6 1/2 - 8 minutes) throughout that time span. The LC® Star quickly delivers over 78% of the prescribed medication in the respirable range (< 5um). The PARI LC® Star is boilable and dishwasher safe. Included with this nebulizer is PARI's Timestrip® which reminds you when it's time to replace your nebulizer.
What's in the box: reusable nebulizer (6 ml capacity), mouthpiece, 7' of Wing Tip® tubing, and Tri-lingual instructions. An optional child or adult mask is available to include with this package.

5 stars, More bang for the buck from my meds
By philget from Boston, MA on 2011-05-17
Pros: Much less wasted medicine
Cons: Treatments take longer
The Pari Star has valves on it that do a great job of conserving medicine for the lungs instead of letting it escape into the air. As a result, I breathe in more medicine from each treatment. And, according to Pari's specs, the Star produces smaller particles which get further into the lungs. However, treatments also take a few minutes longer because of the same valves. If you prefer speed to efficiency and penetration, the Pari Sprint is nice. I sometimes use it when I'm in a hurry.

Pros: Shortens Treatment time, Easy to use, Durable
This was a replacement for a mouthpiece/cup that came with my machine. I LOVE this one. I don't lose any medicine, thanks to the flaps that react to your breaths, and my breathing treatments take less time. I have loved this product!

Questions on PARI LC Star Reusable Nebulizer Set
-
- Is this approved for Pulmicort delivery?
- I contacted the manufacturer of the LC Star, PARI, about this question. They recommended that instead of the LC Star, you use the LC Plus Nebulizer Kit for Pulmicort delivery. Pulmicort is tested on the LC Plus Nebulizer making it the most efficient and affective nebulizer for Pulmicort delivery.

Jet Nebulization Technology
PARI LC® Reusable Nebulizers feature the first ever breath-enhanced jet nebulizer design to efficiently deliver inhalation medicine to your lungs.
How It Works:
1Air from the compressor breaks the liquid medication into small breathable particles which form a mist (aerosol).
2 As you breathe in – the valve at the top opens – letting air in and speeding up the mist generation.
3 When you breathe out, the top valve closes, slowing down the mist and the mouthpiece flap opens letting your breath out.
Inspiration/Expiration Illustrations
When breathing in, the inspiratory valve at the top of the nebulizer opens to allow entrained air to increase the flow of medication to the lungs. When breathing out, the inspiratory valve closes, reducing medication production and thus reducing medication waste. The expiratory valve also opens, directing the breath away from the patients face.
