Smith & Nephew ALLEVYN™ Adhesive Hydrocellular Wound Dressing is a highly absorbent, low-allergy adhesive wound dressing designed to create and maintain a moist wound environment, while preventing eschar formation. This helps facilitate optimal wound management. Its low-allergy, non-irritating adhesive coating ensures that the Allevyn Adhesive Hydrocellular Dressing will adhere to the intact skin surrounding the wound area, but not to the wound itself.
These dressings are sterile.
ALLEVYN™ Adhesive Hydrocellular Wound Dressing is constructed with a perforated wound contact layer that allows the passing of viscous exudate into the dressing, a hydrocellular core that absorbs and holds liquid in its microscopic structure, and a breathable outer surface to form a wound environment that allows the wound to close uninterrupted, without requiring frequent dressing changes.
The Wound Dressing features a profiled cross-section, narrowing to micro-thin edges. This design helps ensure the dressing remains securely in place and prevents accidental removal by friction that can occur between the dressing and surfaces like clothes or bedding.
